What to Expect From Your
In-Home Veterinary Visit

Veterinary care should feel personal, thoughtful, and centered around your pet’s unique needs. At Picktown Mobile Pet Vet, our in-home veterinary visits are designed to create a calm, comfortable experience where both pets and owners feel heard, supported, and cared for from start to finish. 


By bringing veterinary care directly to your home, we are able to spend meaningful time with your pet, understand their environment, and provide a more complete picture of their health and well-being.

What to Expect Before Our Visit

Dr. Mossman will send a text message when she is on her way, and when she arrives. Please allow for a little flexibility before or after the scheduled appointment time. Every effort will be made to be on time, however traffic happens.

A Calm, Personalized Introduction

Every appointment begins with time to settle in and get comfortable. We do not rush through visits or immediately jump into an examination.


Instead, we start by meeting you and your pet, allowing everyone time to become familiar and relaxed. This initial meet-and-greet helps reduce stress for pets while giving us the opportunity to build trust and answer any early questions you may have.


During this time, we also take the opportunity to learn more about your pet’s personality, routine, and any updates or concerns you would like to discuss.

Once your pet has had time to settle and the initial excitement has passed, we gradually move into the examination and evaluation process.


Depending on your pet’s needs, the visit may include wellness exams, follow-up care, health evaluations, diagnostic discussions, or ongoing treatment monitoring. Because appointments are intentionally scheduled with ample time, we are able to work carefully through concerns without the pressure of a tight clinic schedule.


Our goal is to ensure every question is addressed thoroughly and every concern receives proper attention.

Please note: sometimes we may need to delay or reschedule exams. Additionally, we might need to add a prescribed calming medication to ensure a thorough exam.

One of the greatest advantages of mobile veterinary care is the ability to evaluate your pet within their actual living environment.


For example, if your pet is experiencing mobility issues, behavioral concerns, stress-related behaviors, or challenges within the home, we can directly observe environmental factors that may be contributing to the problem.


This allows us to better understand the complete picture of your pet’s health and daily life so we can offer more personalized recommendations and realistic solutions.

Traditional appointments can sometimes feel limited by time constraints, leaving pet owners overwhelmed or unsure after the visit ends. At Picktown Mobile Pet Vet, we believe veterinary care should never feel like a rushed diagnosis in a 15-minute appointment.


After the examination, we take time to clearly explain our findings, discuss the situation in detail, and walk through the recommended care plan together. We also make space for additional questions and conversations so you feel fully informed and comfortable moving forward.


In some cases, appointments may last up to two hours (if needed). We believe taking the necessary time leads to better care, stronger understanding, and a more supportive experience for both pets and their families.
